زمینه و هدف: استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس پاتوژن فرصتطلبی است که بهویژه سویههای مقاوم به متی‌سیلین آن، عامل طیف وسیعی از عفونتهای بیمارستانی و اکتسابی از جامعه است. قدرت چسبندگی از عوامل مهم افزایش بیماری‌زایی این باکتری است. در پژوهش حاضر، میزان مقاومت به متیسیلین و فراوانی ژنهای چسبندگی fnbA  و fnbB در جدایههای بالینی استافیلوکوکوس ارئوس بررسی شد.
 مواد و روش‌کار: جدایههای استافیلوکوکوس ارئوس از نمونههای بالینی بیماران مراجعه کننده به آزمایشگاههای تشخیص پزشکی رشت در بازۀ زمانی یکسالۀ شهریور ۹۵-۹۴ جداسازی و مقاومت جدایهها به متی‌سیلین به روش انتشار دیسک و ارزیابی حضور ژن mecA بررسی شد. فراوانی ژن‌های چسبندگی fnbA و  fnbB در سویه‌های حساس و مقاوم به متیسیلین در واکنش PCR با استفاده از پرایمر اختصاصی این ژنها مشخص و با آزمون ۲% مقایسه شد.
یافته‌ها: از ۹۰ جدایۀ بررسی شده، ۳۷ جدایه (۴۱%) مقاوم به متیسیلین و mecA مثبت بودند. همچنین در ۵۹ (۶۵/۵%) و ۳۷ (۴۳/۳%) جدایه به ترتیب ژن‌های fnbA و  fnbB شناسایی شدند. فراوانی ژن‌های fnb در سویه‌های مقاوم به متیسیلین استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس بهگونهای معنیدار بیشتر از سویه‌های حساس به متیسیلین بود (۰/۰۵> P).
نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج این مطالعه بیانگر شیوع بالای سویه‌های مقاوم به متیسیلین در نمونههای بالینی استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس در رشت و نیز فراوانی ژن‌های fnb در این جدایهها است.
