زمینه و هدف: گسترش چالش‌برانگیز و جهانی کروناویروس، موجب تولید علم قابل توجهی در این خصوص در پایگاه‌های استنادی معتبر بین‌‌المللی شده است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف پایش، رصد و ارزیابی کمی بروندادهای فوق طی ۵۰ سال در قلمرو کروناویروس به‌مطالعه پرداخته است.
روش پژوهش: این پژوهش از نوع کاربردی است که با استفاده از روش علم‏سنجی با رویکرد تحلیلی انجام گردید.  تمامی انتشارات کروناویروس (۵۱۲۸ مدرک) که در پایگاهWOS  در بازه زمانی۱۹۷۰ تا ۲۰۱۹ نمایه شده‏اند، جامعه آماری این مقاله را شامل می‏شود. به‌منظور  تشخیص کلیدواژه‌های اصلی از سرعنوان‌های موضوعی پزشکی (MeSH) و جهت تجزیه و تحلیل داده‏ها، نرم‌افزار Excel ۲۰۱۶ به کار رفت.
یافته‌ها:  روند تولید علم جهانی کروناویروس در بازه‌های زمانی مختلف در نوسان بود. بیشترین میزان تولید علم در سال ۲۰۰۵ (۳۴۹ مدرک) و بیشترین تعداد استناد (۱۱۳۸۵) مربوط به ۲۰۱۹ است. "Enjuanes L"، ایالات متحده، و "University of Hong Kong" پرتولیدترین دانشمند، کشور و سازمان در زمینه موضوعی کروناویروس در نیم قرن اخیر در جهان هستند.
بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج نشان داد بین OutBreak‌های کروناویروس‌ و میزان تولید علم جهانی این قلمرو رابطه مستقیمی وجود دارد. کیفیت تولیدات پژوهشگران این قلمرو از روش‌های علم‌سنجی، قابل تامل و خوداستنادی پژوهشگران بر اچ‌ایندکس آن‌ها تاثیر داشته است. آگاهی با نتایج مطالعات علم‏سنجی کروناویروس، برای پژوهشگران، سیاست‌گذاران و برنامه‏ریزان جهت شناسایی اهداف درمانیِ مناسب‌تر، اتخاذ تصمیم‌گیری بهتر و ارائه راه‏ حل‏های اثربخش‏تر در کوتاه‏ترین زمان ممکن، ضروری است.
