زمینه و اهداف: نماتود Dictyocaulus viviparus عامل برونشیت شدید در حیوانات شیری بوده و به‌عنوان مسئول بروز ضررهای اقتصادی قابل توجه در این نوع دام شناخته شده است. مطالعه حاضر  به‌منظور  تعیین میزان وقوع آلودگی به کرم ریوی گاوها (D. viviparous)، انگل شدیداً اندمیک، در گاو و گاومیش در استان گیلان به اجرا در آمده است.
مواد و روش کار: نمونه مدفوع متعلق به ۲۱۲ رأس گاو و ۱۸۹ رأس گاومیش با استفاده از تکنیک Baermann مورد آزمایش قرار گرفت. پس از کشتار دام‌ها در کشتارگاه، ریه متعلق به تمام گاوها و گاومیش‌ها جدا، نمونه برداری و  به‌منظور  مشاهده حضور انگل D. viviparus در ریه به دقت مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند.
یافته‌ها: به‌طور کلی تفاوت غیر معنی‌داری در میزان شیوع آلودگی به انگل D. viviparus، در نمونه‌های مدفوع گاوها (۲۲/۶۴%) و گاومیش‌ها (۲۶/۳۲%) مشاهده شد. در مطالعه ماکروسکپی، در بافت‌های ریوی آسیب دیده و بیمار متعلق به ۵ رأس گاو و ۵ رأس گاومیش، علائم پنومونی شدید، ضایعات ندولار و پرخونی مشاهده شد. در مطالعات میکروسکپی (هیستوپاتولوژیک) برونشیولیت لنفوسیتیک و ائوزینوفیلیک چند کانونی به‌همراه دیواره‌های عریض بین آلوئولی در ریه‌های آلوده به D. viviparus مشاهده شد.
نتیجه‌گیری: میزان شیوع و آلودگی به این انگل در بین گاو و گاومیش به ترتیب ۲۲/۶۴% و ۲۶/۳۲% بود اما تفاوت بین این دو گونه دامی معنی دار نبود. در مجموع میزان شیوع دیکتیوکائولوزیس در بین حیوانات جوان در هر دو گونه دامی بیشتر بود.
