سابقه و هدف: بیماران نیازمند به دیالیز منظم، در خطر ابتلا به HCV قرار دارند. هدف از این گزارش بررسی ژنوتیپ های HCV در بیماران مبتلا به همودیالیز منظم در عراق بود.
مواد و روش‌کار: مطالعه مقطعی - توصیفی به منظور بررسی ژنوتیپ‌های HCV در بیماران مبتلا به همودیالیز منظم در 7 مرکز در سراسر عراق با تکنیک RT-PCR انجام شد. در این مطالعه 255 فرد با آنتی بادی ضد HCV مثبت انتخاب شدند و ژنوتایپ آن‌ها مشخص شد.
یافته‌ها:  در بین تمام نمونه ها، 31٪ (79/255) با روش RT-PCR مثبت گزارش شدند. سپس برای همه نمونه های مثبت، ژنوتایپ انجام شد، مشخص شد که 39/79 (49/4 درصد) نمونه ها به عنوان ژنوتیپ HCV 1 و 26 نمونه (66/7 درصد) به عنوان HCV 1a و 13 نمونه (33.3 درصد) به عنوان HCV 1b تایپ شده اند. ژنوتیپ HCV 4 در 34/79 (43٪) از نمونه ها مشاهده شد در حالی که 6/79 (7/6٪) نمونه ها با عنوان HCV 3 تایپ شده بودند.
نتیجه گیری: ژنوتیپ -HCV تیپ یک شایع ترین ژنوتیپ و به دنبال آن ژنوتیپ تیپ 4 شایع بود. برای بررسی شیوع ژنوتیپ های HCV نیاز به مطالعه بیشتر مبتنی بر جمعیت است.
