زمینه و اهداف: آمیکاسین یک آنتی بیوتیک آمینوگلیکوزیدی است که علیه طیف گسترده‌ای از باکتری‌ها تجویز می‌گردد. موارد محدودکننده استفاده از این دارو شامل؛ خطر مقاومت میکروبی نسبت به آن، سمیت و نیمه‌عمر کوتاه در بدن می‌باشد. یک استراتژی غلبه بر این مشکل استفاده از فناوری نانو است که می‌تواند به توسعه سیستم‌های دارورسانی کمک کند. این مطالعه در سال 1394 با هدف ارزیابی توانایی استفاده از نانوذرات مزومتخلخل سیلیکا در بهبود بخشیدن  فرمولاسیون سنتی آمیکاسین انجام شد.

مواد و روش کار: SBA-15 با استفاده از روش هیدروترمال سنتز شد. سینتیک رهایش دارو از نانو حامل، در 37 درجه سلسیوس بررسی شد. فعالیت ضد میکروبی فرمولاسیون‌ها بوسیله روش انتشار دیسک و  آزمون رقت در براث روی نمونه‌های باکتریایی انجام شد.

یافته‌ها: SBA-15 با آرایش شش ضلعی و قطر منافذ 100-5 نانومتر، قادر به محصورسازی 47٪ آمیکاسین بود. سینتیک رهایش دارو در pH (5، 7/4 و 8/9) نشان داد، در 24 ساعت اول به ترتیب، 10%، 34/54% و 69% آمیکاسین از نانو حامل منتشر شد. MIC آمیکاسین و آمیکاسین@ SBA-15  برای استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس به ترتیب 1/66، 13/29 و برای سودوموناس آئروژینوزا 3/32، 26/59 میکروگرم در میلی‌لیتر بود.

نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج این مطالعه حاکی از پایداری آمیکاسین پس از محصورسازی و ظرفیت بالای SBA-15 در کنترل رهایش دارو در محیط اسیدی معده تا قلیائی روده دارد که امیدواری‌هایی را در ارائه فرمولاسیون خوراکی این دارو ایجاد نموده است.
