زمینه و هدف: ویتامین بهعنوان یکی از ویتامین­های محلول در چربی، می­تواند در برخی موارد آثار مهاری مناسبی بر فعالیت استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس مقاوم به متی‌سیلین داشته باشد. هدف از این مطالعه تعیین غلظت ویتامین بر میزان بیان ژن‌های mecA و blaZ در ایزوله‌های استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس مقاوم به متی‌سیلین است.
 مواد و روش‌کار: ۷۶ ایزوله بالینی استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس مقاوم به متی­سیلین (MRSA) با تستهای فنوتیپی از نمونههای بالینی مختلف (خون، ادرار، زخم و غیره) جداسازی شد. برای تیمار ایزولههای MRSA، از غلظت­های ۱، ۱۰، ۵۰، ۱۰۰، ۲۰۰، ۳۰۰ و ۵۰۰ میکروگرم بر میلیلیتر از ویتامین K2 و بازههای مختلف زمانی، استفاده شد. عملکرد ویتامین در زمانهای ۲۴، ۴۸ و ۷۲ ساعت گرمخانهگذاری، بررسی شد. برای سنجش کمّی ژنها از روش  Real-time PCR استفاده شد. همچنین بهمنظور آنالیز نتایج به‌دست آمده از نرم افزار REST ۲۰۰۸ V۳ و SPSS V۱۶ استفاده شد.
یافته ها: میزان بیان ژن های blaZ و mecA تنها در غلظت ۵۰۰ میکروگرم بر میلی لیتر از ویتامین 2K کاهش داشت. علاوه بر این، زمانهای گرمخانه گذاری ۴۸ و ۷۲ ساعت بهترین اثر عملکردی را  از نظر تاثیر ویتامین بر ژنهای مورد مطالعه داشت. در ایزوله های جدا شده از نمونه های بالینی زخم و ادرار کاهش بیان ژنهای mecA و blaZ بیشترین مقدار را به خود اختصاص داد. همچنین، ارتباط معنی داری بین زمان گرمخانه گذاری و نوع نمونه بالینی بر کاهش بیان ژن های مورد نظر، مشاهده شد (۰/۰۱> p)  و (۰/۰۵> p).
نتیجه گیری: ویتامین میتواند نقش مهمی در کنترل سویههای استافیلوکوک اورئوس مقاوم به متیسیلین داشته باشد.
