زمینه و هدف: کاربرد نانوذرات در حذف باکتری های بیماری زا ، از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار است . استفاده از این مواد می تواند برای کنترل باکتری های ناشی از غذا نیز ، انتخاب مناسبی باشد . هدف از پژوهش حاضر، سنتز نانوذرات اکسید منیزیم و بررسی اثر ضد باکتریایی آن بر چند باکتری عامل مسمومیت غذایی بوده است.
مواد و روش ها: نانوذرات اکسید منیزیم به روش رسوب‌گیری شیمیایی سنتز شد. جهت کیفیت و ریخت شناسی نمونه ها از روش های XRD وSEM  استفاده شد. تأثیر غلظت های مختلف نانوذرات حاصله بر باکتری های استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس، سالمونلا انتریکا و باسیلوس سرئوس به روش انتشار چاهک انجام شد و همچنین تأثیر غلظت های متفاوت نانوذرات با چند آنتی بیوتیک مقایسه گردید.
یافته ها: باکتری ها دارای مقاومت آنتی بیوتیکی گسترده ای بوده ولیکن نانوذرات بر هر سه باکتری موثر بوده و حداقل غلظت ممانعت از رشد نسبت به استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس ، سالمونلا انتریکا و باسیلوس سرئوس به ترتیب ۰۷۵/۰، ۲۵/۱ و ۵ و حداقل غلظت کشندگی  به ترتیب۱۵/۰ ، ۵/۲ و ۱۰ میلی گرم بر میلی لیتر تعیین گردید.
نتیجه گیری: نانوذرات MgO اثرات ضد باکتری های قابل توجهی را نسبت به باکتری های عامل مسمومیت غذایی نشان داده که می تواند به عنوان یک عامل ضد باکتریایی به طور موثر مورد استفاده قرار گیرند.
